Why Paul Mitchell?

John Paul Mitchell Systems was founded on the principal that salon owners, and ultimately their clients, were who mattered most.   It all began in 1980, when John Paul DeJoria and Paul Mitchell first decided to launch their professional hair care system around a revolutionary new styling method – hair sculpting, and a revolutionary new styling product – Hair Sculpting Lotion®.   Taking hair and raising it to an art form.

"Corporations can and should change the world for the better.   We have the perspective needed to leave the world a better place for our having been there."
-John Paul DeJoria

The principal remains the same but the revolution continues...   Today, the company currently produces over 90 products (including the brands Paul Mitchell, Modern Elixirs™, The Tea Tree Collection, Paul Mitchell Professional Hair Color, Paul Mitchell® Pro Tools™ ).

None of the products have ever been tested on animals.   The company also has a line of products just for pets and even these were tested on humans first!   According to John Paul Mitchell Systems Chairman and CEO John Paul DeJoria, "Corporations can and should change the world for the better.   We have the perspective needed to leave the world a better place for our having been there."   This firm commitment to caring for the earth and its inhabitants informs every aspect of the company's policy and strategy.
